Midwest Foods is what is generally referred to in the industry as a broadline distributor. As the term suggests, we supply a wide range of products rather than specialising in one area. Most of the products we supply are unremarkable in so much as they are often generic in nature and are generally available from most wholesalers.
As consolidation reduces the amount of wholesaling firms in the industry, Midwest Foods remains 100% locally owned and operated. We have sold our products direct to the public for almost 15 years via our wholesale outlet, and we are visible around town due to our involvement in a wide variety of community events. Even to people outside the foodservice market, we have built a strong brand and image that puts us in the top of consumers minds.
From time of order to delivery to the customer, there are controls in place to ensure product integrity and customer satisfaction. Midwest Foods have an accredited HACCP Safe Food plan, which constantly monitors the temperature and condition of our products from when we receive them, whilst in storage and temperature at time of dispatch. Midwest Foods is very proud of this Quality Assurance Accreditation.
Instead of visiting four or five different suppliers, the customer can purchase all their foodservice needs from us. In addition to the standard range of food products, we also stock paper and packaging goods, such as takeaway containers, chip cups, gloves, wraps and foil, and also cleaning and janitorial supplies, including laundry products, kitchen cleaning chemicals, flyspray etc. It also includes Streets Ice Cream, which we supply exclusively in our area.
